Announcement for the Punnetts Town Village Hall

As many of you know, Punnetts Town has worked diligently for six years to get a lottery grant that will enable them to build a new Village Hall. This is especially critical because the Punnetts Town doctor has lost his lease and would have to leave Punnetts Town if a new surgery could not be obtained.

Besides the numerous village activities that are held at the Village Hall, it houses the Punnetts Town Football Club, and the facilities have become dismal.

The old Village Hall was a "temporary" fire station during WWII and is in desperate condition, as you see here. Oh, dear!

The woman on the step is Dr. Betty Jane Punnett of St. Vincent of the Grenadines, West Indies.

Now that the lottery grant has been received, Punnetts Town must raise an additional 80,000 GBP (nearly 160,000 in USD).

There are many wonderful people in Punnetts Town who have worked very hard to bring this vital project to the point of breaking ground in February, 2009. Many of us agree that it is a pleasure to join the people of Punnetts Town in making this building project a success.

Donations of any size are gratefully received. You might like to consider purchasing one or more bricks for the building at 2 GBP each (roughly 4 USD each). A book is kept as a historical record of those who purchase bricks, and it is possible to make a brief statement dedicating that brick to someone's memory. For example, "In memory of my grandfather Albert Punnett."

If you will be making your contribution in US dollars, it will be necessary to convert the currency.
